Cory's been in the game since 2013, so you could say he knows his way around a wedding. After spending 10 years leading another DJ company in the Frederick, MD area, he decided it was time to branch off and do things his own way—so Burnside Events was born in April of 2023.
Since day one, Cory has done it all: karaoke nights, private parties, bars, clubs, AV installs, huge corporate events—but weddings are where he shines. There's just something about watching two people come together and seeing all their loved ones celebrate that moment. That's what fuels him.
Born and raised in Frederick, Cory's love for DJing kind of happened by accident. He lost his high school job while home from college one summer, and a family friend gave him a shot at helping start a new DJ company. From there, it just took off. With a stepdad who has been DJing since the late '80s, the music and event world has always been in Cory's blood.
He created Burnside Events to take more control over the work he loves doing and to build something that reflects the energy and quality he believes every couple deserves. High energy vibes, creative music mixing, and lights that pulse with the beat—that's the signature Burnside feel.
Outside of weddings, Cory is a proud husband to Hannah (a wedding hairstylist herself!) and dad to their sweet baby boy, Teddy, born in 2024. He's also a big brother, a golf fanatic, and just loves being outside any chance he gets.
